When do Providence households call for junk pick up?

Most often when there’s more junk than the weekly trash can hold, or when a room or apartment needs to be empty by a certain date. These are the jobs we see.

Your lease is ending

Move out day comes fast. There's always a pile that didn't make it into the car: bags of clothes, a broken lamp, boxes of stuff nobody wants. Around Brown, RISD, Providence College and Johnson & Wales, the end of the school year means a lot of apartments emptying out at once. We clear what's left so you can hand back the keys.

There's too much for the weekly trash

Weekly pickup isn't built for fifteen bags and a stack of boxes after a big cleanout. Instead of sneaking a few extra bags out every week, have it all hauled away at once.

Spring cleaning finally happened

You went through the closets, the basement shelves and the kids' rooms. Now the hallway is full of bags. Text us a photo and we'll give you a price to take it all.

You live in a walk up or a multifamily home

Duplexes, converted homes and small apartment buildings are the most common housing in Providence, according to NeighborhoodScout). That often means carrying every bag down two or three flights. We do that part for you.

City pickup has limits here too. Buildings with more than 6 units are not eligible for municipal trash or recycling service, and the city’s bulky item pickup only takes items from the curb (Providence bulky item rules (LINK: https://www.providenceri.gov/public-works/bulky-items/)). Our guide to junk removal in Providence (LINK: /) explains how city pickup and private hauling compare.

How does junk pick up work?

You tell us what’s going, we give you a price, and our crew carries it out and hauls it away. Here’s the full process.

    1. Text a photo or describe the load. Something like “about 10 bags, 6 boxes and a rug” is enough to start. Send it to 401.400.1675.
    2. Get an upfront quote. We price by how much space the load takes in our 16 foot truck. The estimate is free and there are no hidden fees.
    3. Pick a day. We work Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call by 1 p.m. for same day or next day pickup.
    4. We carry it out. Show us what goes. We bring it down from any room and any floor and load the truck.
    5. We haul it away. Usable household items go to donation whenever possible, and the room is left clear.

How much does household junk removal cost?
