Old mattresses and box springs usually come out with the bedroom set. We take those too, and our mattress disposal and removal page covers free drop off options if you’d rather handle it yourself. Pianos and hot tubs are bigger jobs, so we quote those separately.

When do people in Providence call us for furniture removal?

Usually when an item is too heavy, too awkward or too far upstairs to move without help, or when the city’s free pickup doesn’t fit the situation. Here are the jobs we see.

The couch is stuck on the third floor

A lot of Providence living happens in triple deckers and walk ups with narrow, turning staircases. Getting a sleeper sofa or a solid wood dresser down three flights is heavy lifting. We carry furniture down from any floor, including third floor apartments, so you never have to wrestle it to the curb.

You're replacing an old appliance

The new fridge or washer is on its way and the old one has to go somewhere. If the store isn't taking the old one, we will. Heavy washers, dryers and stoves are a normal part of our day.

City bulky item pickup won't work for you

Providence offers free curbside pickup of bulky items and large appliances through Waste Management, but only for buildings with 6 or fewer units, up to 3 items per unit, and only from the curb. The city can't come into your apartment or yard. See the city's bulky item rules for scheduling details. If your building has more than 6 units, you have more than three pieces, or nobody can get that dresser down to the curb, that's where we come in. Our guide to junk removal in Providence compares city pickup and private hauling side by side.

Moving in, moving out or downsizing

Furniture that won't fit the new place, a futon left over from college, a dining set nobody wants. Move out season around Brown, RISD, Providence College and Johnson & Wales brings plenty of furniture pickup jobs. Landlords dealing with a whole unit full of belongings left behind can use our eviction and foreclosure cleanouts instead

Clearing out an office or business

Old desks, office chairs, file cabinets and break room appliances. We work with businesses as well as homeowners and renters, and we can plan the pickup around your hours.

How does furniture and appliance removal work?

You show us what needs to go, we give you an upfront price, and our crew does all the lifting and hauling. It takes five simple steps.

  1. Text us photos. Send pictures of the items to 401.400.1675 and tell us where they are, like a third floor bedroom or a basement.
  2. Get a free estimate. You get an upfront quote based on how much truck space the items take, plus any item fees. No hidden fees.
  3. Pick a time. We work Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call by 1 p.m. for same day or next day pickup.
  4. We lift, carry and load. Point to what goes. Our crew carries it out from wherever it sits and loads it onto our 16 foot GMC box truck.
  5. We haul it away. Usable furniture is set aside for donation, metal appliances go to metal collection stations, and the rest is disposed of properly.
